Over the past two days, LIHEAP advocates convened on Capitol Hill for LIHEAP Action Day, their annual chance to connect with Members of Congress about LIHEAP and its significance for families across the country.

Organized by NEUAC, this year’s LIHEAP Action Day kicked off with a special event on Wednesday, February 27, to issue the NEUAC Extra Mile Award to Representative Paul Tonko for his efforts and advocacy on behalf of the energy assistance program.

On Thursday, February 28, constituent groups from numerous states showed up to meet with their representatives to discuss how LIHEAP impacts local families and communities.

LIHEAP Action Day represents one of the largest gatherings of energy assistance advocates, and this year’s event was no exception!
