Participating Members | Supporting Members

The Campaign for Home Energy Assistance is comprised of both participating and supporting member organizations. Participating members generally are non-profit organizations that work together through the Campaign as advocates for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program; many are involved either directly or indirectly in the delivery of LIHEAP benefits at the state, county or local level. Supporting members not only are advocates for LIHEAP but also provide the financial support that enables the Campaign for Home Energy Assistance to carry out its mission and pursue its goals.

Participating Members

The American Association of Blacks in Energy is a national association of energy professionals founded and dedicated to ensure the input of African Americans and other minorities into the discussions and developments of energy policies regulations, R&D technologies, and environmental issues. http://www.aabe.org

The American Public Human Services Association is a nonprofit organization of individuals and agencies concerned with human services. APHSA educates Members of Congress, media and the public on welfare, child welfare, health care reform and other issues involving families and the elderly. http://www.aphsa.org

The American Public Power Association represents more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities. Its purpose is to advance the public policy interests of its members and consumers and to provide member services to ensure adequate, reliable electricity at a reasonable price. http://www.appanet.org

The Black Leadership Forum is a confederation of civil rights and service organizations that acts as a clearinghouse for national African American leaders. It brings together black leaders to grapple with issues of the deepest significance to African Americans, particularly civil rights and major public policy issues. http://www.blackleadershipforum.org

Catholic Charities USA is the membership association of one of the nation's largest social service networks. Catholic Charities agencies and institutions nationwide provide vital social services to people in need, regardless of their religious, social, or economic backgrounds. http://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org

 

The Coalition to Keep Michigan Warm is an informal alliance formed to address energy and poverty issues in Michigan and to advocate for adequate Low Income Home Energy Assistance funding. It has about 30 members, including social service and community action agencies, utilities, church-related charities, fuel funds and state offices.

The Crisis Assistance Ministry is a collaborative effort of clergy to respond more effectively to the needs of low income families in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Its mission is to provide assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency.  http://www.crisisassistance.org

The Energy Coordinating Agency is a non-profit corporation working to ensure that low- and moderate-income Philadelphia area residents have access to safe, affordable and reliable sources of energy and water. ECA provides energy conservation services to thousands of households annually. http://www.ecasavesenergy.org

Energy Outreach Colorado is dedicated to helping Colorado’s neediest families meet their home energy needs. It raises money to help families in need pay energy bills and avoid shutoffs, pursues affordable energy policies and advocates for energy efficiency in affordable housing. http://www.energyoutreach.org

Energy Services, Inc., administers a wide range of government, United Way, utility and privately supported energy assistance and case management programs. ESI is also the parent organization for the Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund, serving all counties in Wisconsin. Lutheran Services in America is an alliance of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and their related social ministry organizations. Its nearly 300 health and human service organizations provide care in 3,000 U.S. communities and in the Caribbean. http://www.lutheranservices.org

 

Massachusetts Energy Directors Association is the primary educational and policy organization for local energy directors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The National Association for State Community Services Programs represents state administrators of the Community Services Block Grant  Program and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program. NASCSP’s mission is to assist states in responding to poverty issues. http://www.nascsp.org

The National Energy Assistance Directors' Association is the primary educational and policy organization for state and tribal LIHEAP directors. NEADA also works with the National Association of State Community Service Programs and the National Association of State Energy Officials to share ideas on the delivery of state energy services. http://www.neada.org

The National Fuel Funds Network consists of 250 members; nonprofit agencies, utilities, and government representatives that provide utility bill assistance raised as charitable donations. Fuel funds are the providers of last resort to families whose federal energy assistance has expired. http://www.nationalfuelfunds.org

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association represents the interests of more than 900 cooperative electric utilities and their consumers in 47 states. The NRECA is an advocate for consumer-owned cooperatives on energy and operational issues as well as rural community and economic development. http://www.nreca.org

 

Ohio Partners for Affordable Energy is a statewide low-income energy collaborative representing low-income weatherization providers. It played a key role in discussions leading to the enactment of state legislation that provides substantial protections and financial support for Ohio's low-income consumers.

The Heat and Warmth Fund is a non-profit organization of Michigan businesses, community human services and private citizens working with companies and energy providers. It provides emergency energy assistance to low-income families, individuals and senior citizens throughout Michigan who are in danger of losing essential heat or electricity. http://www.thawfund.org

The Salvation Army is an evangelical organization dedicated to bringing people into a meaningful relationship with God through Christ. The word "army" indicates that the organization is a fighting force, waging battles against evil through an integrated ministry that gives attention to both body and spirit. http://www.salvationarmyusa.org


Supporting Members

The American Gas Association represents 192 local energy utility companies that deliver natural gas to more than 53 million U.S. homes, businesses and industries.  AGA members account for about 83 percent of all natural gas delivered by local gas distribution companies. AGA is an advocate for local natural gas utility companies and provides a broad range of programs and services for member natural gas pipelines, marketers, gatherers, international gas companies and industry associates. http://www.aga.org

The American Petroleum Institute is a trade association represents more than 400 members involved in all aspects of the oil and natural gas industry.  The association draws on the experience and expertise of both members and staff to support a strong and viable oil and natural gas industry. http://www.api.org

Avista Corporation is an energy company involved in the production, transmission and distribution of energy as well as other energy-related businesses. Avista Utilities' primary market area covers more than 30,000 square miles in five western states. The company serves more than 325,000 electric customers in Washington and Idaho and nearly 300,000 natural gas customers in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and California. http://www.avistacorp.com

Conectiv Power Delivery provides regulated electric service to more than 1 million customers in a 7,500-square-mile area that includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia. It also delivers natural gas to about 100,000 customers in northern Delaware. Conectiv also operates a portfolio of "mid-merit" power plants that can stop and start quickly in response to changes in demand. http://www.conectiv.com

Connecticut Light and Power Company, a part of the Northeast Utilities System, serves customers as a regulated electric power distribution company and is responsible for the poles and wires which deliver energy.  As Connecticut's largest electric utility, it provides service to more than 1.1 million residential, municipal, commercial and industrial customers in 149 cities and towns. http://www.cl-p.com

Dominion Resources, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is one of the nation's largest energy producers. Its portfolio consists of more than 24,000 megawatts of electric power, 6.4 trillion cubic feet equivalent of natural gas reserves, 7,900 miles of natural gas pipeline and the nation's largest natural gas storage system. Dominion also serves over 5 million retail energy customers in nine states. http://www.dom.com

DTE Energy is a leading energy and energy technology provider, selling not only electricity and natural gas, but also coal, landfill gas, steam and chilled water. Its Detroit Edison subsidiary is the nation's seventh largest electric utility, supplying energy to 2.1 million customers in southeastern Michigan. Another subsidiary, MichCon, is the nation's 10th largest natural gas local distribution company, serving 1.2 million customers across Michigan. http://www.dteenergy.com

Duke Power, one of the largest investor-owned electric utilities in the United States, has provided safe, reliable and economically priced power to the Carolinas for more than a century. With approximately 94,000 miles of overhead and underground distribution lines, the company delivers electricity to more than 2 million customers throughout a 22,000 square-mile service area. http://www.dukepower.com

Edison Electric Institute is the premier trade association for U.S. shareholder-owned electric companies and serves international affiliates and industry associates worldwide. Its U.S. members serve more than 90 percent of the ultimate customers in the shareholder-owned segment of the industry and nearly 70 percent of all electric utility ultimate customers in the nation, and generate almost 70 percent of the electricity produced by U.S. electric utilities. http://www.eei.org

 

MidAmerican Energy Company is the largest utility in Iowa and is strategically located in the middle of several major markets in the Midwest. The company provides service to more than 698,000 electric customers and more than 680,000 natural gas customers in a 10,600 square-mile area from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to the Quad Cities area of Iowa and Illinois. http://www.midamericanenergy.com
The Natural Gas Supply Association represents U.S. producers and marketers of natural gas on issues that affect the natural gas industry and the residential and industrial consumers who rely on the fuel. NGSA is an advocate for the use of natural gas within a balanced national energy policy. http://www.ngsa.org

NiSource Inc. is a holding company headquartered in Merrillville, Indiana, whose operating companies engage in virtually all phases of the natural gas business from exploration and production to transmission, storage and distribution, as well as electric generation, transmission and distribution. NiSource companies deliver energy to 3.7 million customers from the Gulf Coast through the Midwest to New England. http://www.nisource.com

The North American Insulation Manufacturers Association is a trade association of manufacturers of fiberglass, rock wool and slag wool insulation products in the United States, Canada and Mexico. NAIMA concentrates its efforts on promoting energy efficiency and environmental preservation through the use of insulation products, while encouraging safe production and use of these products. http://www.naima.org

Peoples Energy Corporation is a diversified energy company comprised of five primary business segments: gas distribution, power generation, midstream services, retail energy services and oil and gas production. Peoples Energy became the first utility in the city of Chicago in 1850, and its gas distribution business now serves about 1 million retail customers in Chicago and northeastern Illinois. http://www.peoplesenergy.com

PPL Corporation, headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, controls more than 12,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States, sells energy in key U.S. markets and delivers electricity and natural gas to nearly 5 million customers in Pennsylvania, the United Kingdom and Latin America. Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) is a publicly traded energy and energy services company headquartered in New Jersey. Its largest subsidiary, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) is New Jersey's largest provider of gas and electric service, with 1.6 million gas customers and 1.9 million electric customers in more than 300 urban, suburban and rural communities. http://www.pseg.com

Puget Sound Energy is Washington state’s largest and oldest energy utility, serving nearly 1 million electric customers and more than 650,000 natural gas customers, primarily in the vibrant Puget Sound region. The many small utility companies that gradually evolved into today’s Puget Sound Energy have been serving Washington communities since 1873. http://www.pse.com

The Salt River Project has delivered low-cost, reliable power and water for more than 100 years. The Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, a political subdivision of the state of Arizona, provides electricity to nearly 800,000 retail customers in the Phoenix area. SEMCO Energy distributes natural gas to approximately 392,000 customers, operating as SEMCO Energy Gas Company in Michigan and ENSTAR Natural Gas Company in Alaska. It owns and operates businesses involved in propane distribution, intrastate pipelines and natural gas storage in various regions of the United States. Tucson Electric Power is the principal subsidiary of UniSource Energy Corporation, a growing family of energy companies serving more than 1.5 million Arizona residents. We Energies is the trade name of Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and Wisconsin Gas, the principal utility subsidiaries of Wisconsin Energy Corporation.
